If you ever watched the TLC show DC Cupcakes, filmed at sisters Sophie and Katherine’s Georgetown Cupcake shop, then you know that cupcake crises are real, and that they often involve panic attacks and breakdowns. Of course once you’ve eaten a Georgetown cupcake, you know just how breakdown and panic attack–worthy these little clouds of cake are. They’re just so freaking good. These beautifully balanced strawberry numbers are laced with fresh berries and a kiss of bubbly in both the cake and the frosting. And thanks to the sisters sharing this recipe, you, too, can have your very own, full-blown Georgetown Cupcake crisis! Or maybe just a minor emergency when you forget to set out the butter, milk, and eggs beforehand to get them to room temperature. (Consider this your warning to set out the butter, milk, and eggs!)

This recipe was excerpted from '50 Things to Bake Before You Die' by Allyson Reedy. Recipe courtesy of Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis Berman. Buy the full book on Amazon.
